Question. I had a jumper wire on my old honey well thermostat from E to Aux and a white wire into Aux.

I don’t know how to get emergency heat to work on nest thermostat. This is what I have hooked up.  I’ll attach pictures. What am I doing wrong.

ugh! I can’t figure out how to attach pictures

how do I get my emergency heat (electric furnace) hooked up to nest?

I have y1/g/ob/rc/w2/c on nest

what am I doing wrong ?

Hi there Snowboarder3185,

Thanks for posting in our community.

The jumper wire you had on your Honeywell thermostat might indicate an incompatibility with your Nest thermostat.

  • If the wire controls auxiliary and emergency heat, you should contact an HVAC technician for a rewiring compatibility check.
  • If for emergency heat only, the Nest thermostat might be compatible, but a technician visit is still recommended.

If you've made sure your wire is fully compatible to be set as emergency heat, you can follow this article about Emergency heat for heat pumps that will show you how to configure the wire on your Nest thermostat.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Angel.
