Everything works but AC compressor doesn't come on

I'm assuming you can use the Nest thermostat without wifi, manually. AC blows warm air (fan only), but fan kicks on/off as its supposed to,  Seems compatible, as it uses the exact wires on my old one. My only clue is that I stumbled across a place in the settings menu that shows the wires as coded on the connections; all were shown in blue on the display, except for two that were in orange—is it trying to tell me these wires weren't making a connection? Can you post a picture of your original thermostat wiring?

The Google Nest Thermostat needs access to Wi-Fi to set it up.

The orange-colored wires do mean there is a problem with them.

Which terminals did you say your thermostat had when you configured it initially?
