Feature Request - Auto Run Fan For Delta in Room Temps

Nest Team,

I have two nest Thermostats (Main and 2nd floor) and 3x additional nest sensors.  I have challenges with some my rooms (office and a bedroom) vary in temp by 3 to 5 degrees from the rest of my main floor.  I my wife and I both work from home (family of 6) and it is not working so well to just shift sensors by time of day as that just over cools/heats other areas.  A simple feature add would be an option to just run the blower if the delta between a set of sensors is more than say 2 to 5 degrees.  In this way I could circulate the existing cool/warm air to the isolated rooms without needing to use as much energy (AC/Furnace) and I would not amplify the delta in needs.  This should be an extremely small uplift (group sensors and set delta temp to run fan only).

Thanks!!!

Hello oneWiLLiAMS,

It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into optimizing your home's temperature distribution. The idea of running the blower to circulate air between rooms with significant temperature differences is quite clever. This feature could indeed help address the specific challenges you're facing, especially in rooms like your office and bedroom.

Implementing a small uplift to group sensors and setting a delta temperature to run the fan only seems like a practical solution to achieve better temperature balance without overcooling or overheating other areas. It's great to see users like you providing valuable feedback to enhance the functionality of smart home devices like Nest Thermostats.

Please let our product team know about this by sharing your feedback, and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. But you can always start a new thread in the future.

Best regards,
Mark
