Flashing red light no display

My nest has flashing red light on top no display

We don't have a Nest thermostat, but perhaps this Google Nest Help topic will help:

Do you have a 3rd gen thermostat?

Red can mean flat battery, have you tired a usb into the back of the display to see if that goes green?

Place your ear right on the display and listen for a ticking noise.
