Like everyone else, I had to upgrade to the 4th gen. My system is heat only and only two wire (R & W) That was enough for the 1st gen. However, after trying to install the 4th Gen, the prompts told me I needed to order this Nest Power Connector. Received that in mail today, and I am dismayed to find it's actually pretty complicated and the directions are vague.

Hi @MiMc,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that you are having some issues trying to find the correct installation for your new Nest Thermostat (4th gen) and where to locate the C wire. Let me share some information with you!
The recommendation that our support provided to you, regarding the option to get a Nest Pro to check the installation and help you with this, is usually one of the best options. Please note that a bad installation could cause damage to your thermostat device and your HVAC system. However, I understand that you are looking for a better option.
For this, I can share our Help Center article called “Nest Power Connector.” Here you will find some steps to follow regarding where and how to connect the C wire for your Nest thermostat. I think this can be a great alternative for you! Now, if the inconvenience persists, always remember that you can check the option for a Nest Pro, too.
I hope this helps!
Best regards,
Debora

Here's my problem,
I don't have a C terminal on my control board on my boiler. I have spent WAY too much time researching this issue. It took nearly a week to get a response on here..
My Gen 1 nest thermostat worked perfectly fine. But Now it's disconnected from WiFi for some empty and pointless reason.
I buy a new nest thermostat $$$ I start setting it up, and it stops me at No C wire. So now I have to wait for this power connector to arrive in the mail⏰⏰. Then I figure out that I actually don't have the C terminal, or anything compatible on my control board for this power connector. So now Google suggests I call a Pro starting at $250....
