Let me preface by saying -
I have a ProStat thermostat, and it uses no batteries and utilizes the C wire for power.
I replaced it with a Nest Learning Thermostat in March or April of 2023 and it worked well up until two months ago where I suffered the dreaded no Wifi issue. Lots of troubleshooting got Google to agree to RMA for it but I decided to use it as is.
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago and my Nest was off with a blinking light; troubleshooting told me it was a dead battery so I manually charged it via USB. Did the whole hard reset, and even measured voltage with my meter to ensure the C wire was working as it should. I mean, it worked to keep my Nest charged for a year right? So surely it isn't a wiring issue.
Well after charging, it wouldn't last more than a full 24 hours and I kept having to charge it for hours on end.
Just got my new RMA replacement today. Should I be concerned about the wifi-loss and battery issues returning?
