Google Nest Temperature Sensor No Longer Connecting

Hello,

Purchased a Learning Thermostate and Temp Sensor on 4/24.  Installation, wifi connection, connecting to the thermostat - all went perfectly fine and the sensor was working for the first week.  Went out of town from 29th to 1st (not sure if that's relevant, but giving the whole picture..), and by the time we returned the sensor was no longer working.  Attempted to reconnect, removed the device and added it again, changed batteries, tried connecting with the sensor less than a foot away from the thermostat - nothing.  Won't connect and won't "pass" the connection test.  Is it just a faulty sensor at this point, or is there something else I can try?

Hey Alex999,

Thanks for providing a detailed description of your concern and also for trying those steps already.

If it fails the connection test, please try the suggestions below:

  1. Test the connection a few more times. The sensor may pass the test on a different try without any further troubleshooting steps.
  2. Move the sensor closer to the thermostat. Even just a foot (30 cm) can make a difference. If it still can’t pass the test, try moving it further.
  3. Check for wireless interference from sources like cordless phones and other electronics, large appliances like refrigerators, bookshelves, mirrors and other things that can block wireless communications. For more details, read the Troubleshooting wireless interference article.
