I have exactly the same issue. Mine was working fine until I changed over to the google home app and then it stopped connecting to the WiFi . There is no error message I have contacted google they went through many things and told me they do not know what is wrong and I need to buy a new one. I believe it has something to do with changing to the google app. Did you manage to fix yours?

Still no fix. Seems like there is a huge number of buyers who have this issue. I mean the error message I get in the home app is "please check your password and try again" ? ! That is so absurd because there is no way to even enter the password after I highlight my wifi network and hit the next button. Many many others are complaining about the same thing.
So the question is, is my hardware device defective or is it completely the fault of the home app that is creating the lack of connection? Google does not seem to know the answer themselves. I wish they would update the home app asap.
This is turning into a very frustrating buying experience.

Hi Jake,
Thanks for your message. I am still having issues with the Nest not connecting to my wifi. I have just been using it manually at the moment.
i do believe it’s something to do with the google app change as it was fine in Nest app. It’s seems strange it would fail so quickly. I will not buy Nest again and would not recommend this product to anyone. Something has clearly gone wrong here. If you can help in anyway that’s would be appreciated

Bought a new Motorola MG8725 Router/Modem combo. EVERYTHING in the house connects just fine EXCEPT Nest Doorbell (Battery).
I have gone through every combination of help I could find online and nothing works. It says "check password". I have literally copy pasted the password. Verified the password is correct by signing out of my wifi and signing back in. The password is correct.
This doorbell is less than a year old and worked fine till I switched to the Motorola router. I have moved the doorbell all over the house and right next to the router, the signal is "Excellent" everywhere. PLEASE HELP.
At the very least, I would like to repace the doorbell under warranty.

Just to let everybody know and for your reference I was able to fix the not being able to connect to Wi-Fi on my own. I was using Much older cable modem Motorola surfboard SBG 901
i replaced it with arris surfboard cable modem sb8200 combined with a google Wi-Fi extender
that fixed the problem
IF YOU ARE USING AN OLDER CABLE MODEM IT MAY BE THE REASON FOR NO WI-FI CONNECTION TO YOUR THERMOSTAT
I told Google tech-support the exact model out of the older cable modem is using the Motorola surfboard modem but they did not tell me that that modem is too old or not compatible and it was and that it was the reason for the lack of Wi-Fi connection
So you might have to spend $100 and just get the latest cable modem. For your Wi-Fi
