Google best extra wire

I have a new google nest and Im wanting to hook it up. I noticed there is more wires on my old thermostat then there is needed for the google nest. Are they compatible and if so where do I put the extra wire?

Your current thermostat is compatible with any of the Nest thermostats.

Try this wiring.

Black - S - not used, tape off

Brown - S - not used, tape off

Yellow - Y to Y1 or Y

Green - G to G

Blue -C to C

Red - R to Rc or R

Orange - OB to OB or */OB

The "or" is for the Google Nest Thermostat wiring
