Google home app just has spinning circle

I just installed a Google nest. I want to control it with the app. But the app just has that spinning circle. Help!

As for the spinning circle in the app, try these steps:

1. Check the Apple App Store to make sure you have the latest version of the app.
2. Force close the Google Home app. Swipe up from the bottom of your phone, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the Google Home app. On older devices with a home button, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the Google Home app.
3. Re-open the Google Home app.

If the issue persists, try turning off your phone then turn it back on again.
