The app won’t stay connected. The thermostat is connected.

Hi Aumackn,

Thanks for reaching out — I'd love to help.

The Nest Thermostats disconnect to the Wi-Fi if it experiences low battery issues. The wires connected to the thermostat help to fill the needed voltage in a period of time to reconnect to your Network.

Please check out this guide:

  1. Disconnect the phone that you're using for the Nest app to your Wi-Fi Network.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Reconnect your phone to your Wi-Fi Network.
  4. Remove the thermostat display from its base, then press and hold the back of it for 10 secs or until the thermostat  goes black to do the hard restart. Note: For Nest Thermostat 2020, remove the batteries for 3 minutes to do the hard restart. After 3 minutes put the batteries back.
  5. Once the thermostat is back in, make sure that the Nest Thermostat is connected to the Network.
  6. Uninstall and reinstall the nest  app or Google Home app.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn
