Hank

Around nine months after purchasing my Nest Thermostat v1.4, I got a "deficient battery" alarm today. The voltage was 3.09 volts.

The battery status is now "ok", and the voltage is displayed as 3.23 volts after I changed the two AA batteries. The voltage has been present for three hours.

Is this acceptable, or ought the voltage be at least 3.6 volts?

Many thanks

The problem that you describe is one of my current problems that come and goes. This happened after my thermostat disconnected from my account and became unresponsive to walking by or turning the ring. I did a factory reset and uninstall of the app to start "fresh". Now it does not register to my account . After resetting that attempt it does not see any of the gazillion networks of my immediate neighborhood.  Resetting the network part of it gets it back to see the networks and well as logging into my network. However, getting to add the thermostat to my account is still unsuccessful, after multiple attempts of resetting etc.

Hi there,

Chiming in — I'd love to know more about it. Do you see any messages or code on the Nest Thermostat? Could you please try to type the name of your network manually, or use your mobile hotspot?

Also, you can visit this article for more information.

Hi Jenelyn_O,  Yes, it showed TD009 (18.1) if I remember correctly. The guidance on the app pointed me to the same article which I have tried, no joy.  There are four issues. The proximity sensor does not always detect me, I have to press the thermostat multiple times to get a display going. It only connects to the internet at times and when it is connected it does not register to my account.  Then what I find strange is when I unplug it from the base it loses the eco settings. All the time it appears to be controlling the furnace correctly.  Battery is fine

Hey Bearnard,

Thanks  for the update and thanks for being a step ahead of us. The code TD009 is for potential service issues. Could you please click this article to check your Nest service? Also, check if the wires are flattened and it's not pushing the display from its base.

Best,

Jenelyn
