Google nest constantly beeping - touch sensor seems broken

Hey y'all - currently losing my mind.

The google thermostat won't stop beeping and it appears (from watching the screen) that it thinks it's being selected. It keeps toggling between the home screen and the selection screen.

So I figured something must be off with the touch sensor and wiped the side down (thinking hey! Maybe it's like when you get water on your phone screen). That hasn't done anything and the beeps are actually speeding up.

No Idea what to do - tried restarting it and that did nothing. Haven't done the factory reset but will head their next. Is this a common problem? Any ideas?

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out to Google Nest Community. I’d love to know more about this.

What type of Nest Thermostat do you have and can you list down the steps you did so far?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Zoe

I think I just have the normal best thermostat. I've wiped around the inside and reset the device

Hello folks,

Thanks for your assistance here, Zoe.

@thorpben39, it appears to be a power-related issue that could cause a beeping sound. To help you better understand this, could you please share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring? Also, please check its power readings in the equipment settings.

@ab472, I appreciate you cleaning your thermostat. I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here. How's it going with your Nest Thermostat? Are you still hearing beeping sounds in it? Let us know so we can assist you right away.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

Hi, we turned off the setting where it turns on when someone walks by it and the beeping stopped
