Google nest wake up screen

Ok I am new to this google nest. I just installed my 3rd gen last night. Now I have it set so when I walk by it or up to it the screen comes on and in that window it tells me the temp it is set at. Now playing with it a little I found that if I tap the side a new window pops up showing the Date , Time, weather and temps.

I would much rather have that that window show up when ever the screen comes on when I walk up to it then the Just Temp window.

Is there any way of changing this?

Thanks

Bruce

Hi Brew61,

Thanks for posting. You can enable or disable Farsight in the Display menu of your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation. When it detects that you enter a room, Farsight can provide information on the thermostat's screen. What is displayed is your choice:

  • Target temperature
  • Current temperature
  • Analogue clock
  • Digital clock
  • Weather

If you don’t want to use Farsight or have a 2nd gen Nest Learning Thermostat, you can choose when you’d like your thermostat screen to wake up. Choose either Wake on approach (when you approach) or Wake on press (when you press).

You can decide when you'd like your thermostat screen to wake up if you don't want to use Farsight or if you have a 2nd genaration Nest Learning Thermostat. Select either Wake on press (when you press) or Wake on approach (when you approach). Learn more about this by checking this article of how your thermostat decides when to turn on the screen.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Zoe
