Hi my parents heat link has died this nest was fitted during covid so that i could keep an eye on my elderly parents making sure they were remembering to out on their heating. All of a sudden their heat link has died. there are no lights on the device all wiring has been checked by a qualified British gas installer who has insured me that it is the nest heat link that is at fault and offered to replace with a hive at quite a cost to my parents. However as previous stated my parents are elderly and would struggle to learn how to use another new device in their home, they like the convenience. All the usual checks have been made such as switching off and reseting the boiler and power to the nest. Please help thanks

Thank you for all the information provided @GaryC . I am sorry to hear about the problems with the thermostat and I would be happy to try and assist. It's great to hear you already had it checked out to make sure power is not a problem
Let us check a few details to get a better idea on what's going on:
1. When was the thermostat installed?
2. When did you first notice this behaviour?
3. Was it installed by a Nest Pro or by a heating/electrical engineer?
4. Did you notice any message on the thermostat display?
5. Did you notice any power cut in the area before this occurred?
6. Did you have any maintenance done on the heating or electrical system recently?
7. Do you have only one or multiple Google Nest thermostat devices at the location?

Hi thanks for the reply I contacted nest support yesterday via phone and have arranged for a BOXT engineer to come out and replace the heat link

That's great to hear. If there's anything else that I can try and assist with, make sure to let me know.
