Heat Pump and Nest Thermostat

confucio

My heat pump only blows cold air.  The Nest thermostat is set to heat but I only get cold air. During summer the cold air is good but now is too cold and I need the heat.  I had tried many of the solutions offered from the google nest community and also from You-Tube but there are not positive results.  The problem is the same:  Not heat.  Only cold air is coming from the vents.  Outside weather is cold, the house is too cold and I need heat.  Somebody told me to switch the thermostat to cold air to see if will come out hot but it came out cold.  During summer everything is good.  But now is cold and I need heat.  Can somebody help me please?  Professional help is very expensive and at my age, I cant afford it.

Thank you for your help and God bless.

Hello confucio,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your heat pump. It's frustrating when your home isn't as warm as you need it to be. It's commendable that you've tried various solutions from the Google Nest Community and YouTube.

Here are a few suggestions you might consider:

  • Check the Thermostat Settings: Ensure that the Nest Thermostat is set to the correct mode for heating. Sometimes, a simple check of the settings can resolve the issue.
  • Inspect Air Filter: A clogged or dirty air filter can restrict airflow and affect heating. Consider checking and replacing the filter if needed.
  • Examine the Heat Pump: If the heat pump is not working correctly, it may need professional attention. Look for any signs of damage or unusual sounds and consider contacting a technician.
  • Also, please check out this article to troubleshoot heat pump issues.

I hope this helps and stay warm!

Regards,
