Heat Pump not working

Maggiemparks

Trying to install the nest to work with my heat pump system. I’ve installed according to the suggested wiring diagram in the setup, but the regular heat is not blowing warm air. Just outside/room temp air. The cool air, auxiliary heat, and the outside and inside units are running. Just not the regular heat. Thanks!

Hello Maggiemparks,

I'm sorry for the late response. I understand you're experiencing issues with your Nest Thermostat installation and the regular heat not blowing warm air. Let's work together to troubleshoot the issue. Here are a few steps you can take:

  1. Double-check your wiring connections to ensure they match the suggested wiring diagram in the Nest Thermostat setup. Make sure each wire is securely connected to its respective terminal.
  2. Move the white wire to the W2/Aux terminal and the power wire to the Rc terminal. Restart your thermostat to refresh and ensure that the wiring changes have been configured.
    1. Note: Turn off the power from your HVAC system at the breaker box before touching the wires.
  3. Try restarting your heat pump system. This can sometimes resolve communication issues between the thermostat and the HVAC equipment. Turn off the power to the system, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on.
  4. Navigate to the thermostat settings and ensure that the system is configured correctly. Verify that the thermostat is set to the correct mode (heat, cool, or auxiliary heat) and that the temperature settings are appropriate.

I hope these suggestions help resolve the problem. Feel free to provide more details if needed, and we can continue troubleshooting together.

Best regards,
Mark
