Heat link dead, no lights, can’t reset

My nest third gen learning thermostat is showing a H71 error and there are no lights on the heat link and heating not working!

I don’t know how old the system is as I just bought the house with the nest installed.

i have tried a hard reset of the heat link but nothing happens. There is a second thermostat/heat link for the downstairs heating and water and this is working fine.

Hi @aoifebuckley100,

Thanks for reaching out to the community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this with your Heat Link and your Nest thermostat. I understand that you have another Nest thermostat that's working fine. Don't worry, we'll work together to resolve this. To better assist you, I have a few questions:

  • How long has your Nest learning thermostat been installed for?
  • Have you had any power cuts recently?
  • Have you had any work done on your electrical or heating systems recently?
  • Have you checked that the wires are properly connected to the Heat Link?
  • When you press the Heat Link button, is there any light?
  • Please share a picture of the error message displayed on your Nest Learning Thermostat.

I really appreciate your troubleshooting efforts. Please let me know the answers to these questions, and I'll be happy to help you further.

Cheers,

Jonathan
