Heat link error H72

Inge_Martin
Community Member

Heat Link not working. No lights. Thermostat shows a H72 error. It is connected to a working socket (we tested with a lamp) so the problem is the heat link, not the power source. Hot water is still working, heating is not. We bought it in Jan 2022. Please advise as I can’t find this for sale as a loose part, plus it shouldn’t break down this soon. Thanks.

Hey @Inge_Martin,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but I'm going to do my best to help you out. Can you please tell me what lights do you currently have on the Heat Link and what lights show when you press the middle button on it to put it in Manual Mode?

Good morning.

Thanks for helping. There are no lights on the heat link and nothing happens when we middle button.

You say purchased in Jan 2022, why not just contact the retailer, and tell them to fix it? You have only had the set for a few months.

That would be much quicker.

It was purchased Jan 2020, so the 2 year guarantee has expired. Thanks.

OK, you say in the first post Jan 2022 hence the reply by me!

However, assuming you are in the UK, the retailer is still responsible for getting the problem sorted. They may say ''Get Lost'', but as said, if you are in the UK the thermostat has not lasted for a reasonable amount of time. The retailer's responsibility is for at least 5 years for that amount of money spent.

Apologies for the confusion. We are in the Netherlands, not UK. Can you still help in that case?

That makes a huge difference, as UK consumer law covers you for at least 5 years. I don't know if the Netherlands has such a system?

I personally would not waste your time on here, I would contact Nest Direct. This is just a community forum.

Try searching Google Nest Contact Number

That works here, and shows the freephone number, may work in the Netherlands.

There is also a chat line.

Here - https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en

This is the UK, but you might be same where you are.

When on the page do this......

1. Select first line, Please select your product family = Thermostat

2. Tell us what we can help with - Then Just type in = Faulty

Click - Next

Then click - Other

Then Click - Other

Then - Next Step

That should take you to the ''get Call - Call Us - Chat

With the above, don't write anything, just keep clicking other and next step, that gets you there quicker.

Hope that helps

Hey @Inge_Martin,

If you didn't yet get help from the chat or phone support line and you still need assistance, please answer the following questions:

What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
Did the issue happen during installation or after installation? Was it installed by a Nest Pro or by a regular installer?
Are you seeing any wiring report or error on the thermostat and/or the app?
Have you had any recent power cuts in your area? If yes, has the power been restored?
Have you recently had service or maintenance on your electrical, plumbing, or heating system?
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before contacting us?

How many thermostats do you have?
