Heat mode no longer selectable

For years our two nest units worked flawlessly.  Now, one no longer displays heat mode....only cool. No wires have changed, nor has any attached hardware.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello Davidpauler,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Nest Thermostat. If one unit is no longer displaying the heat mode despite no changes to wires or attached hardware, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Pull the thermostat display from its base. It's worth checking the wiring to ensure everything is securely connected. Sometimes, a loose wire can cause issues, and the tab should be pushed down like the others to stay locked.
  2. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve issues. You can do this by going to the thermostat settings and selecting "Restart" or by turning the thermostat off and on.
  3. If the issue persists, you might want to consider resetting the thermostat to its factory settings. Keep in mind that this will erase all your current settings, so make note of them before proceeding.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
