Hi RZ6,
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that the air turns on but doesn't start the gas heaters. Are you located in North America or Europe? And, could you send us a photo of your previous thermostat wiring configuration and a photo of you connected the thermostat wires to the Nest Thermostat base so we can take a closer look? Also, check on these:
- Ensure that the wires are properly connected according to the manufacturer's instructions and that they match the corresponding terminals on both the thermostat and the heating system. Look for any loose or disconnected wires that may be causing the issue.
- Verify that the system type is set to "gas" or "forced air" in the thermostat's settings menu.
- Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
- Select Settings > Equipment. You’ll see all the wires currently connected to your thermostat.
- Continue. You’ll see a list of equipment attached to your thermostat.
- Choose Heat type, then select the type of heating you have.
- If you still have the old thermostat, you can reinstall it temporarily to see if the gas heaters are activated properly. This can help determine if the issue is indeed related to the new thermostat or if there may be another underlying problem with the heating system itself.
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Zoe
