Heat pump air conditioner- air conditioner turns heat on

This is the second time and a separate system where, for a heat pump, the thermostat trips the heater on when you put in air conditioning mode. The thermostat and system worked well for 3 years but a factory reset doesn’t do anything. 

I replace nest thermostat with another nest for my other unit and it is something wrong with the unit. 

how do I fix? Certainly it can’t be just to replace the thermostat.

• What is the make and model of your heat pump system?
• Do you see any messages or code on your Nest Thermostat or on the app?
• Could you please try to call for heating and check if it will run your AC or if it will stay in the heat?
