Heating comes on overnight but not at the times scheduled.

Our nest thermostat is new. The heating comes on overnight when we are asleep so is costing a lot more. We've turned off autoschedule to try and get it to come on in the evening between 19:00 and 21:00. It still came on in the early hours of the morning. We turned the thermostat down to 20 and we got no heating at all for 24 hours.

At the moment, to save on our heating cost, we just want the heating to come on at the hours we choose. Any suggestions?

Hi  MaryLondon,

Thanks for posting in the Community! Sorry to hear that your heating is coming on when it’s not supposed to be and it’s not following your schedule. No worries, help is here! If you already disabled the auto-schedule feature, let’s try some other troubleshooting steps:

  • Remove your Temperature schedule:
  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Select your thermostat.
  3. Tap Schedules.
  4. Tap the day of the week that has the temperature you'd like to remove.
  5. Select the temperature you want to remove.
  6. Tap Delete or the trash icon. The temperature will be removed from the schedule for that day.
  • Restart your Nest Learning Thermostat
  • Create a new Temperature schedule.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Axel.
