Heating will not switch off

GrantFields

Evening

I'm hoping someone can help. I'm unable to switch the heating off. When the temperature is lowered on the thermostat the heat link clicks but I still have voltage on terminal 3.

I saw on a previous discussion with SB_1984, Vladut, LarisaL, & AlexD on 11-25-2023 they had the same fault. Does anyone know of an outcome?

Thanks

Hi GrantFields,

Thanks for posting in the Community! Sorry to hear that your heating doesn’t stop even after the Heat Link clicked. No worries, help is here! Please help me providing the following information to get the right troubleshooting steps:

  1. What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  2. Is there any LED on the Heat Link?
  3. What is the display color?
  4. Is there a wiring report or error message on their thermostat and/or app?
  5. Have you had any recent power cuts in your area? If yes, has the power been restored?

Keep me posted.

Regards,
Axel.

Good Morning Axel

It is a third generation wireless pro, as far as I can ascertain.
The heat link has a light on the front, which I would think is an LED
The heat link light is green, the thermostat display is black background, white lettering until it’s turned past the current room temperature, then it goes orange.
There is no fault message of any kind that I have found on the thermostat, or the app.
We have had power cuts, but the power has been restored fairly quickly in all occasions.

Thanks Grant

Hi GrantFields,

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the information you've provided.

If you've been experiencing power cuts, the first step in troubleshooting is to contact a Nest Pro or the original installer. There might be a wiring issue causing the heating to run continuously. They are the best team to assist you with this situation. If the issue persists after they've checked the wiring, please let me know so I can provide further troubleshooting steps.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Axel.

Evening

I have checked the wiring myself. We have constant Live & Neutral on the left hand side. I have a constant live to terminal 2 & terminal 3 feeds brown on motorised valve to open it. I have disconnected the brown to check im not getting back feed & no voltage. So its definitely the unit sending out voltage when not required.

Thanks

Hi GrantFields,

Thanks for replying and for taking the time to check the wiring yourself. If, after disconnecting the wire, you're not getting any power signal, as you mentioned, the unit might be faulty. No worries, please fill out this form, and an agent will contact you as soon as possible for further troubleshooting. Be sure to include the link of this conversation thread in your request.

Please let me know once you've submitted the form.

Regards,
Axel.
