Hello @Allard

Thank you for reaching out to our Nest Community. Don't worry, I'd be happy to help you with your Nest Thermostat's power.

Let's work together to fix it. To better assist you, I would like to know:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • Are you seeing any wiring report or error on the thermostat or app?
  • The thermostat display is working?

With these details we can continue finding a solution for this situation.
Feel free to keep us posting.

Hi Douglas

thanks for your reply.
I have a Nest 3rd gen. The electrician told me the heatlink does not work anymore. I dont see any error messages. The heatlink just doesn’t activate the unit. Communication between the nest thermostat and heatlink is normal. The electrician says the heatlink does not work . The NO COMM relais does not work.

Hi Allard,

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to know if there is an LED on the Heat Link. If there is, which color is it? Have you had any maintenance on your system recently? I would like to know as well if there has been any power outage in your home lately.

You can use the manual mode on your Heat Link to verify if your boiler can be activated by it; activate manual mode by pressing the Heat Link's button once, check if the boiler turns on, and then turn off manual mode by pressing the Heat Link’s button once again.

Let me know if the boiler activates using manual mode and if you notice any error code on your thermostat display, as this will allow us to determine the reason why your boiler isn't kicking in and we can determine the best course of action.

Keep me posted!

Regards,

Angel.

hi Angel

thanks for your message,

I reset ( factory settings ) and rebooted the heatlink a couple of times. The heatlink reboots normally, after the flashing blue, the led turns  green again. I can hit the manual heating button, lighting up the leds , but it does not activate the boiler.

A simple Honeywell thermostat works fine with the district heating unit (not a boiler) .  So the problem is not the boiler.

Again, the electrician measured port 2 and 3 on the heatlink giving nog closed circuit when pressing the manual activation or turning up the thermostat.

there is no error message on the thermostat. I reset the thermostat and connected it again with the heatlink. that all seems to work fine.

Cheers

Allard

Hello Allard,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I really appreciate all the information that you provided when it comes to the troubleshooting you’ve already performed with the Heat Link, as this gives us a better idea of what could be the reason the boiler isn’t activating.

Since the boiler isn’t turning on when using manual mode, the team would like to know more about this behavior. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there; make sure to include your community username alongside a link to this conversation so we can locate your submission.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Angel.
