Help with correct wiring

@ zoeuvre it looks like my previous post has been closed to comments. The compatability tool simply tells me that the Nest will work in my home. It doesn't help me with my wiring/AC problem. Can you help?

Hi Jenmc26,

Thanks for the post, and I'm sorry that the previous thread was locked already since as Community Specialists, we occasionally do a bit of housekeeping to keep the conversations in our community fresh and relevant. This includes locking threads after a period of inactivity.

Because there aren't enough cables to properly set up the Ecobee thermostat you're replacing, it's using its proprietary PEK terminal. You can find an Ecobee Power Extender kit module in the furnace/air handler. This module is identical to the Nest Power Connector and performs similar functions, but they are incompatible.

Proprietary systems aren’t compatible with Google Nest Thermostats. However, some proprietary systems can be rewired by a pro installer to be compatible.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe
