I have been in many threads about this issue regarding Home/Away Assist...but they are now closed. I have no idea what is going on with Google (Nest or Home Apps), but the Home/Away Assist functionality is littered with bugs. Every so often the function will not work at all or work with significant errors.
I want my thermostat to go into Away mode (Eco for cooling) when I am away from my home. However, when I leave my home, the thermostat remains on Home mode. Both my phone and my wife's phone are out of the house. I have no pets (even though that should not be an issue).
My last issue with Home/Away Assist was with updates being made to my settings without my knowledge or adding in new options like Presence Sensing that seems only exist in the Home app where I mostly use my Nest app to control my Google Nest products. This caused notifications to be sent to both our phones everytime it sensed that were home even though we only want notifications if we weren't home. This essentially got fixed..or did it..
They just increased the price again for Nest Aware, but their main function is still broken. I need help to resolve this once and for all. What settings for what devices and on how many apps do I need to set? If there is any additional information, screenshots, etc that is needed, please let me know. Thanks!

What specific model of Nest Thermostat do you have?
Do you have more Nest products? If so, can you please list them?
When did you install the thermostat?
If you have already performed any troubleshooting steps, could you please list them for us?

I have been kicked out of response twice now. Once for authentication and another cause it decided ton refresh so i lost everything i wrote. Im trying to get information on my phone to.amswwr questions...not great...but ill try again.
All my thermostats are Nest E. I have 5 thermostats, 3 cameras, and 1 doorbell.
I have been troubleshooting this issue with Near/Google dor years now cause it always seems to break at some point. The latest was around notifications found here:

I honestly do not know where to go in Nest or Home anymore since the articles or instructions fail to mention the duplicative setting up needed.
I just want my devices to know when we are home or away. If one person home them home, if both away them away. If both away, but kids are home, then it should be home (that's the point of presence sensing and all the Nest and Google devices sensing). If it just worked by the geo fencing of the phone that would be an Improvement, cause that doesn't work either.

To ensure your Home and Away Routines work correctly, please ask every person in your household to enable presence sensing on their phone. If a person's phone isn't included, the system won't know they are home, which can trigger routines at the wrong time.

This is the infinite time I have set this setting in the Home app. Is there some reason that it keeps resetting?
