How do I add a second phone to the Home/Away assist so my thermostat doesn’t go down when I leave the house but my wife is still at home?

Invite your wife's account to your Google Home. See the "Invite members to a home" section of this help center article. Then, make sure you can see her phone in the presence sensing settings.
