Hot Air in Cooling Mode

Hello,

We had a heat pump installed 2 years ago and everything has worked great heating and cooling. We turned on cooling a week ago after winter and only hot air will come out. It doesn’t make sense if it was previously working and nothing changed.  Any ideas?

@Rkmiller, there are a number of possible reasons this could be happening for one. The reversing valve coil on your heat pump may have failed in which case is not switching from heating to cooling. Another possibility is that the system has a leak and no refrigerant. The third possibility is is the outdoor system may not be running properly.
