Hello JDelgadoM,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Incorrect wiring configuration, compatibility issues, and power-related issues could be the possible reasons why your heating and cooling are activating at the same time. To isolate:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • When did the issue start?
  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • Are there any reports or messages? If so, what are they exactly?
  • Is this a new installation?
    • If yes, have you checked your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system's compatibility with your Nest thermostat through the Compatibility Checker tool?
  • What kind of HVAC system do you have? (Heat Pump, Convention System, etc.)
  • Do you notice any intervals or specific patterns between these strange behaviors?
  • When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?
  • Have there been any recent changes or upgrades to your HVAC system?
  • Does the issue happen with heating only, cooling only, or both?
  • Share with us a photo of your old thermostat and Nest Thermostat's wiring setup and gather its power readouts in the Technical Info settings or in the Equipment settings, depending on your thermostat version.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
mark
