Hot water Nest Alexa control

cavman255

Please please please add hot water control to the Alexa skill. The whole reason I bought a Nest thermostat was so I could control my heating with Alexa. I didn’t dream for a minute that I wouldn’t be able to control the hot water. It’s the thing I use the most, and it annoys me every time I have to open my phone, go into the app and then hot water. It was quicker when I had a manual button on the wall!

Also, I usually only want to boost the water enough for a quick shower. 30 minutes is way too long, so I have to set a reminder on Alexa to remind me to stop the boost after 10 minutes. IOT devices should make life easier, not harder! Come on guys, let’s make it better and more useful for everyone!

Hi! Just checking in with you. Did you see my previous message?

Yes, thanks for your reply.

I’m a developer, so very well aware of what’s involved in updating the Alexa skill and software. I was just surprised these things were not considered In the initial development. For me, I’ve spent a lot of money on something that isn’t very smart for a leading smart device. It’s actually more manual for me to use than my old manual button! Hopefully the software can be updated soon, otherwise I’ll be looking for a different solution.

But thank you, appreciate your responses 😊
