I have tried to find the lock setting, but there is not one on this thermostat.  The thermostat says it is version 1.1-9. Instructions say that I can also lock it from the Nest app. I installed the app, but when it add to my device it takes me to the Google app. I can’t stay in the nest app. The device is installed on my Google app, but will not install in my nest app. Please help me lock it. I have repeatedly told people in the house to stop touching the thermostat, and I’ve even withheld their allowance, but they don’t care.

Hi Jadyne Senpai,

The Nest Thermostat model from 2020 does not have the PIN lock/unlock feature unfortunately. You won't be able to control it with the Google Nest app, as it is can only controlled in the Google Home app.

This is a mostly a user to user community, therefore if this is important to you, I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.

Hey Sergioeday,

Thanks for chiming in and welcome to the Google Nest Community.

What type of Nest thermostat do you have? If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, check out this guide for the steps on how to lock and unlock it: https://bit.ly/3mxsZte

Hope this helps.
