How to add a new nest thermostat that's installed in a different city?

Hi. I have a vacation home in a different city. I want to have a heating person install a Nest thermostat (model G4CVZ) for me in that location. How can I then add that thermostat to my app remotely? Is that possible, or must I physically be present to add the thermostat?

I believe your phone needs to be on the same wifi as the Nest thermostat in order to add it to the Nest app.
