Trying to change the email my Nest account is connected to. Previous email is no longer active and when I try to log in, the two step verification is sending a code to my old email. Help!!

I am having same issue and it looks like your post if pretty old.  Did you ever get this resolved and if so, how did you do it?

Same issue here.  Complete design flaw.  I have my username and password, but it won’t allow me to login.  How can I change my nest email ?

Hi Gxd,

Thanks for reaching out. To change your email address, you would need to still have access to the Nest Account that you want to change the email address. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Nest app and select Sign in with Nest at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Enter your email address and password, then tap Sign in.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select Account, then Manage account.
  5. Tap Account Security, then Email address.
  6. Enter your current account password and the new email address. Retype your new email address to confirm.
  7. Tap Save changes.
  8. Check your new email address for a message from account@nest.com. Tap or click on the included link to verify the new address.

You can also click on this link to learn more about this.

Thanks,

Edward

Suggested solution doesn’t work when Nest requires two step authentication and code is sent to the old email.

Hey 732buck,

Do you not have access to the old email at all? When you say it's not active, was it something like an ISP account that you no longer have an ability to reach? What's the reason you can't use the old email address?

Thanks,
Jeff
