I am installing a nest thermostat to replace a Honeywell thermostat that controls ac and heat

I have one red wire that uses a jumper to connect two terminals.  is that compatible with nest?  Can I jumper for the Rc and Rh wires?  or is the nest incompatible with my situation/system??  Thanks
