I cannot put my heating on outside of the set schedule.

I have been having a problem with my NEST system for 3+ months. Initially, I couldn't change or remove the previously set heating and water schedules and I had to turn all the radiators off over the summer. After many attempts to reset my thermostat, I managed to completely rest the system. I have managed to add new schedules which the system is responding to, but I cannot get my NEST system to respond when I want to put my heating on outside of the set schedule.

I have disabled the:

Home/Away Assits, Auto-Schedule, True radiant.

Thank you

Hi, @NickyS,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm so sorry to hear that the heating mode is only working on a schedule. I’m happy to help you!

I appreciate it you letting me know you have disabled Home/Away Assist, Auto-Schedule, True Radiant, and resetting the thermostat.

This is certainly not normal behavior for your device. Normally, a reset should resolve this problem, as it deletes all the information stored in your thermostat.

To fix this, I recommend performing a factory reset on both your Heat Link and Nest thermostat. Refer to these articles for the instructions: How to restart Heat Link or reset it to factory defaults and Restart or reset a Nest thermostat.

Once you've reset both devices, please set up the thermostat and Heat Link on the Nest app. Then check if the inconvenience still persists.

Feel free to keep posting; I'm here to find a solution for you.

Best regards,

Ana

Hi, @NickyS,

Thank you for your prompt response. I appreciate you following the troubleshooting steps I outlined in my previous post. I'm truly sorry the problem still persists. I’m happy to assist you further.

To gather more information and resolve this inconvenience, please answer the following questions:

  • Does the Heat Link work when it's in manual mode?
  • How many heating zones do you have?

In the meantime, please check if you have a system programmer. If so, adjust the thermostat to Always On, 24 Hour, or Constant. This will allow the thermostat to fully control the heating system.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

Hi Ana, yes the heat link mode works in manual mode and we have 1 heating zone.  We do not have a system programmer.

not sure if useful, but when the heating starts it reaches a very high temperature for the whole duration of time?

thank you
