I don't recall signing up for rush hour rewards but I see the yellow gear on my Nest thermostat why?

I think what your seeing is not rush hour rewards, but seasonal savings. It is built-in and not connected to your energy provider. Also any program you have with your energy provider that hooks to a smart thermostat, Google calls rush hour rewards. Your provider might call it something else.
