I have just moved into a new home with a Nest learning thermostat

Congrats on the new home! Did you have a specific question or query about the thermostat?

I am trying to add my thermostat to my app. I have opened settings and rverything is fine but when I go to add device I get the message "Already connected".

What should I do please?

So it sounds like it is still connected to the previous owner's account. You'll first need to factory reset it so you can add it to your app. 

Restart or reset a Nest thermostat
