“In 2+ hours” above target temp

My thermostat keeps saying “in 2+ hours” if I change the temperature but then never actually turned the heat up. Any recommendations on how to bypass this delay and glitch? Thanks

Same thing is happening to us and we can’t get our heat to turn on for hours. I’m so over this

The 'in 2+ hrs' is an estimate of how long it will take to reach the target temp, it isn't a delay.  So if you crank it up 1 degree it will say 'in 30mins' if you crank it up more it will estimate a longer time to hit the target temp.  The heating should turn on instantly.  If your rads are turned on full, and the heating is already on, turning the temp up wont make it any hotter, it will just keep them on for longer.

Thanks, it doesn’t seem as though the rad are engaged or circulating heat when I turn it up from a “cold start”.  So for example, say the room is set to 62 and it has reached that target temp. But we have company over and want to turn it up, so we crank it to 68.   Since the rads aren’t “active”. The nest says “in 2+” hours” but the rads never engage and click over and it stays 62 until the next scheduled temp change. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I feel like I can’t change the temp in demand.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi folks,

It's me again. I wanted to check back in to see if you have other questions and concerns. Feel free to let me know if you do.

Thanks,

Edward

Ours took up to 4 hours to even turn the heater on. It worked for a year and suddenly started this. I’m far from the only person saying this, even when you speak to their tech support. Ours also hits the target temp and turns off and you have to wait hours for it come on again.

we have 4 children and it will be incredibly and dangerously cold this week, we had to get rid of it

We have a 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat. We live in Massachusetts with oil furnace and radiators. We just had an addition put on, new furnace and put 3 nests in 2019. These problems arose about a year ago.
Thanks for the help.
