Hey I’ve have a nest learning thermostat, my boiler is in an outbuilding so has a frost protector. Do I remove the frost protector and replace with the nest heat controller?

A lot will depend on the specific make model and age of your boiler system. If your current thermostat is of the simple kind "set heat to x" you should be able to install the Nest in the house and leave the frost protect thermostat alone.  Most frost protect systems are designed to override a main thermostat. I love my Nest, but I would not trust one for that particular job.
