I have a nest learning thermostat. Is it possible to have Nest Notify you if your electric backup kicks in on heat pump?
My new heat pump should not require backup electric heat until the temperature gets down to -4 f. I was wondering if there is any feature that can warn you if backup electric heat turns on at a higher temp to warn you that something might be going wrong with the heat pump? When my old heat pump was dying I ended up with a 700+ dollar electric bill because I had no idea I was running on electric backup when it shouldn't have been.
