Hello,
Moved into a new home with a Honeywell system including a THM5320R unit. House is 3 floors plus basement with 2 zone HVAC; one thermostat on the main floor, one on the third floor (wireless) and a thermostat for infloor heating. There is also a fantec air exchange controller on the main floor.
We miss having the easy app control of HVAC as we've had Nest thermostats in our last 3 houses, but they were all 1 zone systems and did not have the air exhanger.
From reading many forum posts and reddit it seems we cannot use Nest in this setup. We could potentially replace the THM5320R unit with a Nest thermostat on the furnance itself, but wouldn't be able to run a thermostat on the main floor nor are there wireless options for the third floor. In lieu it seems we could use the Nest sensors. The other option seems to be replacing the main floor with Nest but then it will only manage that zone. I think we could use a Nest thermostat for the infloor heat independent.
Wanting advice on best way to proceed. Is my understanding correct? or is there a way to get Nest integration with this system in a more conventional way. Disappointed with the Honeywell controls, so thanks in advance!

Hi, @Scotty2H,
Thank you for reaching out to the community. I appreciate the information and picture you provided; they are very helpful.
I'm happy to assist you with your system's compatibility.
After carefully reviewing the pictures, it appears that the wires for both the main floor and the infloor heating system are compatible with the Nest Thermostat 2020 and the Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd generation). In this case, you would need to purchase two separate thermostats for individual zone control.
Regarding your THM5320R unit, it might be possible to replace it with a Nest thermostat. However, I strongly recommend contacting an HVAC technician for professional installation.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Best regards,
Ana
