Hi FVillanueva76,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I'm sorry for the delay. I'd like to take a closer look at it. Could you please take another photo where we can clearly see the labels of each wire? Also, share the photo of the wires that are connected directly to your HVAC control board.

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi folks,

@FVillanueva76, I double checked your thermostat wires. It is compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat as it has more than 6 wires. You have a heat pump with an emergency heating system.

You can use this as your guide:

  • Y1 - Yellow (Cooling)
  • W1 - White (Heating)
  • G - Green (Fan)
  • OB - Orange (Reversing Valve)
  • C - Blue (Common)
  • * - Black (Emergency Heat)
  • RC - Red (Power)

@kkleitsch21, could you please send us a photo of the wires connected directly to your HVAC control board?

Thanks,

Jenelyn

I’m still waiting to hear back on this.

Hello everyone,

I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for looking into this, Jenelyn.

@kkleitsch21, it appears that you have a heat-only system based on your thermostat's wiring, and is this a high-voltage system as the wires look thick? To properly configure your system with a Nest Thermostat, I'd suggest contacting an HVAC technician or any local technician in your area who can check its wiring from your system's control panel.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Best,
Mark
