Issue setting dual fuel on learning thermostat below 12 degrees

Spoke with support and got nowhere. I had a heat pump installed today in addition to the gas furnace I already have. The heat pump can handle -30 but the max I can set the dual fuel so the furnace kicks in is -12.

I've seen other have similar issues but nothing was resolved. The HVAC techs said they've had the issue w google thermostat so I may need to get a different one.

I'm in Canada and there were no nest pros in my area

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your Nest Thermostat and dual fuel setup, especially in the colder temperatures.

It's not uncommon for users to encounter compatibility issues, and it's good that you've reached out to HVAC technicians for their insights. Since they mentioned experiencing similar problems with Nest Thermostats, it might be worth exploring alternative solutions.

If Nest Thermostat is proving to be incompatible with your dual fuel system, could you tell us more about your HVAC system and the additional information you've gathered from your HVAC technicians? The availability of Nest Pros in your area may limit your options, but other reputable HVAC technicians will do. Also, please share with us your support ID number from your previous contact.

Keep us posted.

Warm regards,
Mark
