  1. I just had a new goodwin heat pump installed. I wasn't home when they finished. I come home and it's blowing heat instead of cold air. I called and they told me to change the reversing valve from heat ro cold on my nest. I have no idea how to do this !! I checked my wiring and I'm attaching a picture. Husband is out of town working. I feel like they knew it wasn't working right when they left. Otherwise it wouldn't have been turned off. My nest has the mirrored front. It worked fine with my previous heat pump. Please help !!!20220713_092429.jpg

Hey Michelle20,

Sorry to hear about your Nest Thermostat and for the delayed response.

Please try changing the O/B wire settings by following the steps I've listed below:

  1. Open the Home app.
  2. Tap your thermostat.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings.
  4. Select Thermostat.
  5. Scroll until you find Heat pump. It should show which wire configuration is currently selected.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.
  6. To make sure the issue is resolved, test your heating and cooling again.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Melba

Hey there,

How's it going with your thermostat? Have you had the chance to try the steps above?

Best,

Melba

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I ended up buying another thermostat, a lux brand,  I was able to wire it up and my unit is now working. I tried the above steps on my nest but I couldn't find a separate o and b, all I had was o/b. After 2 hours I gave up and went to lowes to find a simpler thermostat. The reality is the guys who installed my heat ans air unit, a local company, should have had it running before they left but they didn't. In the end I have a working unit and I guess that's all that matters:) thank you for your help !!
