Does the thermostat E have a mind of its own like the learning thermostat?
Can it be put in manual mode to stay that way?
In other words eveytime I put every mode in manual on the learning one it goes right back into nest sense and changes temps by it self.

Hi 1960-keith,
Thanks for reaching out! The Nest Thermostat E doesn't have the algorithm to set your temperature by itself based on your daily preference. The Nest Learning Thermostat has this algorithm feature. Your thermostat can automatically switch between modes, but you can manually set the mode you want too. You can use the Eco preset to quickly adjust to energy-saving temperatures manually or in its temperature schedule. For your guide you can check this article.
I hope this helps.

JT
