Loud compressor using Lennox XC16S036-230 A06

I’m using a 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat for my Lennox Air Conditioning systems. I’m using a XC16S036-230 A06 variable speed condenser.  Several times per week, now several times per day, when the 2nd stage kicks in the compressor begins making a very loud rattling noise it’s not supposed to make. We had an HVAC technician come out and check the system. He said it’s not the air handler or condenser and I should replace the Next Thermostat with a Lennox or Ecobee.  Do you support the Lennox XC16S036-230 and if so what are the settings needed?  I don’t want to change to another thermostat but this one is giving me nothing but issues.

Because Airwave states it turns the compressor off before the cooling cycle is complete I turned that off hoping it fixes the issue with the compressor making weird noises when the 2nd stage kicks in.  Any other help from the Nest team would be appreciated.

Well that didn’t work.

Hey RandomNestUser,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay.

Do you still need help with this? I'm a bit confused since it is marked as solved. If you do, the compatibility of our Nest thermostats do not depend on brands. It depends on the type of system you have and the wires that your system uses.

A few questions — did this work before with your thermostat? Could you share a clear photo of your old thermostat wires showing the terminal labels and also another one showing how you wired tour Nest Learning Thermostat?

Best,

Melba
