Low temperature or temperature hold

Dabrmi
Community Member

I have a part of our building that loses temperature quickly and takes forever to recover so I would like to narrow the gap between the temperature it is set at and the low temperature it allows.  I don't have on ECO mode, I can't adjust the saftey temperature higher than 45 degrees.  I can't seem to adjust the low temperature.  It doesn't seem to be impacted  by any sort of scheduling changes.  I am trying to hold 73 degrees, or at least no lower than 70 in that room, but every morning when I come in at 7 it is in the low 60's and takes more than 5 hours to hit 73.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think perhaps the "home/away" assist might have been the problem.  When I leave at night it powers it down to save energy....  Is that a possible solution?

Hi Dabrmi,

Thanks for reaching out. When you set your Nest Thermostat to hold the temperature, it is supposed to ignore scheduled or automatic temperature changes for a while and stay at a specific temperature even you're at Home or Away. I suggest reinstalling your Google Home app then try to set a Hold temperature again.

Note: If you're using the Eco preset, you can also choose None to hold the temperature indefinitely until you end the hold. For other presets, your thermostat can hold the temperature for up to 24 hours.

I finally figured out that when I left work the thermostats would go into a power saving mode.  Once I figured that out and turned the feature off, everything started working great.  Thanks for reaching out.
