Migrating from Alexa to google

I’ve been trying for over a week to migrate to the google nest.  I’ve got the google account, BUT when I try to add the thermostat to the account I keep getting the error ‘oops we’ve encountered an error ‘

My thermostat is connected to the internet & working. But will NOT migrate to Google.  And now I’ve lost the Nest account on my iPhone !!!
still have it on my computer but no access on my iPhone and unable to log back into the account on the iPhone.
I’m beyond TICKED OFF!!

Hi Tickedoff5150,

Thanks for the information. If you can access your Nest account on your computer, same with the Nest thermostat it’s possible that the email address you are using to sign on your phone is different from your pc. To check the email on the https://goo.gle/2qjvVSU on your pc click on the profile icon on the top right. Then it will show you the email address that you currently sign in.

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Edmond

@Tickedoff5150

It's a little unclear what you're doing. Your title says you're migrating from Alexa to Google (whatever that means), but your description seems to indicate that you've migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account. If that's what you've done, your Nest Learning Thermostat should automatically appear in the Google Home app in the same Google Nest "home/structure" you're using in the Google Nest app.

I don't know why you've "lost" access to the Google Nest app on your iPhone. After migrating, you should be logging onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option. This is Google Nest's help topic on migration:

You could also contact Support, using the link and instructions in this post:

Hello everyone,

@Tickedoff5150, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I'd like to confirm, which Nest Thermostat do you have? What app are you using? Where are you located? In case you've migrated your account from Nest to Google with your same email address, then you can just open your Nest app and select "Sign in with Google". In case you haven't migrated your account, then you can just select the "Sign in with Nest" option.

Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson

EmersonB, Sorry I forget to check this email account..

I have the Nest Learning 2nd gen.

Trying to use the Nest app.  When I migrated to the google the Nest app lost the ability for me to sign back on my phone.  I can still access the Nest app on my PC.

I'm in the sunny southern California desert.

Have tried to use the Google app, but it doesn't locate the thermostat to add.

I'm hesitant to do a restart after the problems I've already encountered.

Hi there,

Chiming in—have you tried to open your Nest account through another device? Another phone or tablet, whether iOS or Android? If so, how does it go? If not yet, try to check on that so we can determine if this is caused by your phone, the app, or even the thermostat itself.

I appreciate your help,  and Emerson.

Thanks,

Zoe

Zoe, thanks for responding..  I forget to check this email address and just saw your reply.

I only have IOS & my Mac PC.

I can access the app from my PC.

When I try to connect to the Google the thermostat tells me that I need to enter the entry key.  But to get to that apparently I have to RESET the thermostat.  I'm hesitant to do that on my own and waiting for my winter service for the tech to help or do for me..  I'd hate to lose complete access to the thermostat.
