Have a multi story townhome, have a sensor in the main bedroom, main level. sensor in the basement. Gen 4 thermostat on main level and Gen 3 thermostat upper level.
The home has a smart vent system that came with the home to help direct airflow and equalize temps in the house. Even with the systems installed, the upstairs will NOT stay cool and the basement is always freezing.
have closed vents to basement, and even some main level rooms, and the basement does have return vents.
house sits as follows. 75*-78* upstairs 68*-71* main level and nothing above 65* basement. I am suspecting that the smart vent system is wired or setup in correctly, but before I place full blame here, what is the most proper way to set the setting between all to where the fan can pull air from the basment and send it to the upstairs.
Its quite unbelievable how hot the upstairs gets
Heating is similar but not as bad, basement just gets colder, so with this info I would want it to operate opposite

Hi @RustyS53,
Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you have a Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen) and a Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) in different parts of your house that aren't working as expected with cooling and heating, as the upstairs is always getting hot and the basement is always freezing. No worries, let's work together to figure out the issue you're experiencing. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:
Please feel free to share any relevant information that might help.
Regards,
Jonathan
